Welcome to the Audio For Vatsim testing!

The first round of Audio for Vatsim (AFV) will be taking place on a standalone server along side the existing network in order to minimize disruption to live users on the old voice codec.

The standalone server is up and running to allow you to test your setup for new voice now, with the first event planned for xxxx at xxxx.

You are welcome to connect to new voice and position yourself within the London area (EGLL ,EGKK, EGLF etc) and listen to a test bot on 125.00.

Once you can hear the test bot if you wish to team up with other users of new voice before the official test then you can try out tuning your radios to the same frequency and being within VHF range of someone else.

You can chat with the new voice team via discord at https://discord.gg/wTdWD5s for any help and advice during the setup process.

To use new voice as a vPilot user is very simple!

Step 1 - Just download the updated Vpilot at http://xxxxxx.

Step 2 - Open vpilot

Step 3 - Click the settings button and change the server to AFV-TEST before connecting to VATSIM.

Step 4 - Connect to VATSIM as normal

(Note you will be able to still use old voice by connecting to any of the other VATSIM servers as before)

FS9, FSX, P3D, X-Squawkbox Users

As your client has not been updated to use new voice at this time you will need to download the simple standalone voice client from http://xxxxx.com

Step 1 - Install the new client by running the downloaded installer

Step 2 - Select ‘Audio For VATSIM’ from your start menu

Step 3 - Follow the instructions provided.

(Note: Please ensure the PTT button you use for new voice is not the same as your PTT button setup in your pilot client.)

Controllers

As your client has not been updated to use new voice at this time you will need to download the simple standalone voice client from http://xxxxx.com

Step 1 - Install the new client by running the downloaded installer

Step 2 - Select ‘Audio For VATSIM’ from your start menu

Step 3 - Follow the instructions provided.

Audio for VATSIM will use your Vis Points from your controller client to setup transmitters. All you need to do is set a primary text frequency in your controller client, do not set a voice room up for your primary frequency.

Note new voice will not support ATIS at this time, old voice will be used until that feature is in place. Setup your ATIS as normal.
